Some Of The Best Mobile Phone Brands

According to statistics, as of 2008, there were 304.7 million cell phones bought around the world. If anything, this reveals that people could care less about the economic crisis once these gadgets are involved. Cell phones have become a part of our lives. And since their creation, they have been indispensable trade and leisure tools. They have revolutionized our social processes, shortening dista nces between people, strengthening links and simplifying methods of correspondence. Mobile phones may very well be the symbol of our generation. After all, almost everyone who can afford it owns a cell phone.

Motorola was the originator of the idea of mobile phones. And thanks to it, we have different types to choose from. It was this telecommunications company that pioneered the wireless “radio telephone system,” which was the ancestor of the modern day mobile phone. And upon this model did other companies fashion their own trademark phones. Now, people can avail of basic phones, music phones, camera phones, feature phones and smart phones, in accordance to their preference.

Motorola is still in the business and has done well at continuing its legacy. In fact, it remains to contribute beneficial inventions to the constantly growing population of mobile phones, taking almost 9% of the market share for 2008. The RAZR series was among its most notable models, which donned a stylish and sleek flip design. Although its specs fall less in comparison to other cell phone brands, especially concerning battery life and camera quality, the RAZR did receive a warm welcome from the public upon its release and even defeats the next brand in sales.

Sony Ericsson only secured 8% of the cumulative market sales for 2008. However, it did leave a good impression among cell phone users when it released the Cybershot and Walkman phone series. At such a young age, Sony Ericsson has truly made a difference in the face and function of mobile phones. It was back in 2001 when this company was established out of the merger of an electronics (Sony) and telecommunications (Ericsson) company. But since then, they have not stopped in bringing some of the most remarkable cell phone models. The XPERIA smart phone is this brands newest invention and its bound to make waves with its innovative application of Windows Mobile operating system.

Now, it may come as a surprise to some, but Samsung actually defeats both Motorola and Sony Ericsson in its market share for last year. This mobile phone brand took 16% of the total, following Nokia’s 38%. Samsung is not purely a telecommunications company but it does compete well with other brands. The same as Motorola, Samsung aims to provide consumers with handy, elegant, advanced but user-friendly phones.

Motorola, Sony Ericsson and Samsung are just some of the mobile phone companies that are constantly trying to woo the public with enhanced versions of their products. This, in turn, grant mobile phone users more choices for their communication tools.
